Method
To calculate exact age:
- Note the current date
- Note the date of birth
- Subtract years, months, and days separately
- Adjust for negative values
Example
DOB: 15 May 1990
Current date: 20 January 2024
Years: 2024 - 1990 = 34
Months: 1 - 5 = -4 (borrow 1 year, so 12 + 1 - 5 = 8 months)
Days: 20 - 15 = 5 days
Result: 33 years, 8 months, 5 days
