What is Ratio?
A ratio compares two quantities. It shows how much of one thing there is relative to another.
Notation
A:B or A/B or A to B
Example
10 apples and 15 oranges
Ratio = 10:15 = 2:3 (simplified)
Simplifying Ratios
Find the GCD (Greatest Common Divisor) and divide both numbers by it.
GCD of 10 and 15 is 5
10/5 : 15/5 = 2:3
